Summer Spells

The summer season is often enchanting. It is a time of warm weather and sunshine, a time where many seek to escape from the normality of life. A time for holidays and vacations. A time for love and romance. But it is also the time of the Summer Solstice, the longest day and shortest night of the year, a time for the Fae, a time for magic…

Within these pages you will find poetry and prose all of which has been inspired by the summer season and the spells it can weave. Sometimes the inspiration behind the piece is obvious; for other, more eclectic pieces, the inspiration must be sought out. Either way, these pages hold much enchantment.

So find the cool shade of a weeping willow or a meadow full of wildflowers still coated in morning dew…sit in the middle of a stone circle on Midsummer’s Day or simply recline out of the sun on your sofa or nestled into your favourite armchair, maybe with a glass of something cold and refreshing, and enjoy the magic of the season…
